TOLOGA BAY LICENSING COMMITTEE.
The annual meeting ef the Tolog* Bay Licensing Committee took place al the Court House, Tologa Bay, on the Ist instant. There were present Messrs. M. J. Gannon, Andrew Reeves, E. Kirk, H. Williams, and tho Native Asssessor, Hemiora Te Kani. Publicans* licenses were granted to E. Dovory and Wm. Bailey for the Ferry Hotel and tho Murewai Hotels respectively. Licenses wero also granted to Richard Finlay, Waitotara Hotel, Henry Trimmer, Michael Mullooly, and John Allanach, for hotels at Tologa Buy. An accommodation license to McClutchey, for premises at Marahea. Frankly Hoges and Thomas Fox for premises at Tokomaru. Mr Trimmer withdrew his application. Accommodation license to John Harding. Publi-x cans’ licenses to George Walker and RultfF Aratapu, Awanui, and Frederick Fox, Wai-o-matatini. * licenses were granted to Watene, and Hone Mokena for premises on the other side of the Waiapn river and Kawukawa respectively. The application of Oulton for an accommodation house for premises at Rangatira was refused, the applicant not appearing. The committee ruled that in accordance with clause 56, personal attendance on the part of thu applicant was imperative, unless when prevented through sickness or infirmity. The scale of fees fixed by the committee was £'2s a year for publicans’ licenses, £lO a year for aecomniodution licenses ou this side of tho Waiapn river, and £5 for similar licenses on the other side of the river. There were twenty applications dealt with. The fees to the (’ounly for licenses in the Tologa Bay licensing district amount to £3OO.
