Description of Land—The Maniatutu Village, situated on the future main road from Tauranga to Opotiki, is about the centre of the above lands. and is distant fnnn Tauranga 23 miles, from Te Puke 11 miles, and from Maketu 9i miles, by partly-formed roads, the road from Kaikokbpu to the village and onwards through the block being now under construction by Government. The lands in the Maketu and \\ aihi Survey Districts are ail open, and consist of undulating fern hills running out to swamps in the northern portions, whilst the southern blocks are more broken. The soil is light, the vegetation consisting of fern, tutu, and flax. The swamp lands are in many cases of a slipperier character. Note.—Waiiii Survey Districts.
