In the Supreme Court this morning, after the Judge had taken his seat, the Crown Prosecutor intimated that he intended to ask permission to enter a nolle prosequi in the case against Titokowaru and Rangi charged under the West Coast Settlement Act. The Judge said he should look into the application and let him know during the course of the day. Invebcabgill, May 8. The plans of the new Garrison Hall have been approved of by the Drill Shed Commissioners. Tenders are to be called for the erection of the building. The main hall shows the floor space 100 feet by GO feet. On each side there will bo a room for officers, band, and various companies. Auckland, May 8. The formal opening of the Kaipara Canning Company’s Work eventuate on Saturday. The company propose canning fish, especially mullet, and have a plant capable of turning out three thousand 21b tins per day. Reefton May 7. Mr J. S. Weston addressed a meeting of his constituents at Reefton last night, and received unanimous vote of confidence.
