A DOUBLE MURDER.
A tragedy of a painful character has -been perpetrated at Tipton, near Dudley, by a youth named C. Hindelang, aged" 18, the son of Emil Hindelang, a clock and watch dealer, of ‘Wolverhampton-Street, Dudley, by throwing two of his brothers, -Francis Applebut, and Lewis Benjamin, into -the Birmingham Canal. Hindelang left home shortly after five o’oloek, and meeting his brothers as they were Heaving school, induced them to take a walk with him, the three pro- - feeding to Tipton ; and when walking ■by the side of the canal he deliberately threw his brothers, whose ages were nine and seven respectively, into the canal, the result being that they were drowned. Shortly after eight o’clock Hindelong gave himself up to 'the police on the charge of murder. Toe caual was afterwards dragged; and the two lifeless bodies were found about 10.15. Hindelang states that he committed the -murder through poverty, alleging that there was not sufficient food for his brothers to eat at home.
