The lady passengers On the Te Allan who witnessed the mishap were very much excited, and evinced great interest in the efforts made for his rescue. The man succeeded in keeping above water for fully 10 minutes, struggling manfully with the breakers, and was eventually picked up by a boat sent off to his assistance. — Star.
