Volunteer Intelligence.
EASTER ENCAMPMENT. Tite members of J Battery, N.Z.V.A., paraded at the drill shed at 7 p.m., on Thursday evening, about 35 members being present, and marched for the Camp at Roseland, which was reached about 8.30 p.m., where they were joined by the Ormond detachment, numbering about 20. They then broke off for their several tents. Tattoo was sounded at 10 p.m. Friday forenoon they fell in for drill at about 10 a.m., and the day was spent in Company, Battalion, and Gun drill. The accommodation is excellent, the officers having worked hard for the comfort of the men in this respect. To-day will be occupied in the usual drills and other routine of the Camp. On Monday, Captain T. W. Porter commanding the district, will inspect the corps, when a presentation of colours will be made. A dejeuner will be given at two o’clock in the large marquee provided for that purpose. In the evening, the time not yet being fixed, the battery will march back to town, breaking up the encampment. This is the programme as far as wo are able to lay it before our readers.
