Christchurch, March 13. 1,231 shares in the Frozen Meat Company have been applied for. The Company will now be registered. Application has been received from various breeders for space for 3,800 sheep and over 200 head of cattle, besides one or two inquiries for space for dairy produce. 200 entries have been received for the Ladies’ Court at tho Exhibition. Messrs Joubert and Twopenny have telegraphed to the Premier expressing a desire to invite all the principal Maori Chiefs to the Exhibition, and requesting that proper steps be taken for that purpose. Wellington, March 13. The Wellington Artillery Volunteers fired their match against the other butteries of New Zealand this morning, making a splendid score of 871. Invercargill, March 13. James McDonald, fireman of the Otauto engine was run over by a train and killed on the Riverton and Orepuka line this morning. Dunedin, March 13. In a simultaneous Carbine match the Dunedin Battery made 736 and the Port Battery 715.
