A Wanganui paper states ;—Some time back it was mentioned in these columns that the Catholics of NewZealand had formed a Land Settlement and Endowment Association. The prospectus of the company has now' been issued, and we learn that the capital is to be £250,000 in 10,000 shares of £2 10s each increase. 2s 6d per share is to be paid on application ;2s6d in allotment; and 15s in quarterly payments of 2s 6d. It is not contemplated to call up more than £1 per share. The Company w ill be re<ristered and an office estab’ished at Wellington so soon as 5000 shares have been taken up, and branches or agencies in Auckland, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wanganui, and other centres of population will be guided by the number of shares held by such districts. A list of 38 influential names has been secured for the directorate, Whanganui being represented by Messrs David Lundon, Robert Holeroft, and Edward Ward. Messrs Buckley, Stafford, and Fitzherbert o. Wellington are the solicitors; the Union Bank of Australia the Bankers; Messrs Ledbetter and Cooper of Wellington the Brokers ; and the acting Secretary is Mr James ■Cook J.P. also of the Empire Citv.
