The Election.
We find there is a little discrepancy, as advertised, in the figures of some of th.e Returning Officers, owing to certain informalities on behalf of the voters, thus: Captain Porter polled only 116, instead of 117, at Gisborne ; Mr McDonald 94, instead of 97, at Ormond ; and Mr McDonald 25, instead of 26, at Tologa Bay. The following have come to hand since our last:— Waiomatatini. Porter ... ... 12 McDonald ... ... 6 Loeke ... ... 3 Gannon ... ... 3 Tokomaru. Porter ... ... 5 Locke ... ... 3 Gannon ... ... 1 McDonald ... ... 0 Mattia. Locke ... ... 6 Gannon ... ... 5 McDonald ... ... 3 Porter ... ... 2 The totals now stand as follow : McDonald ... ... 411 Locke ... ... 422 Porter ... ... 180 Gannon ... ... 141 Total voted... ... 1184 Informal ... ... 19 Total voters ... 1203 Non voters... ... 321 Total R 0115... ... 1524
