Rees left for Napier to-day to attend the case Barker v. Rees, he will, therefore, not be able to contest his election in person. Auckland Elections — Rees rejected. For City East, Sir George Grey has a majority of 34; City West, Dargaville ; City North, Peacock, 26 over Rees; Parnell, Moss ; Eden, Tole ; Waitemata, Hurst is 108 ahead at Deronport and the Lake. Napier Election. Napier, Dec. 9. Buchanan, 489 ; McDougall, 187 j Macsweeney, 114. Wairoa, December 9. The result of the polling is : Locke, 81 McDonald, 49 ; Porter, 18 ; Gannon, 14.; Total, 162.
