Last Sunday evening, says the Star, the incumbent of St. Matthew’s delivered to an attentive congregation the first of a series of Advent lectures on “ The Four Last Things ” —“ Death,” Judgment,” “ Hell,” “ Heaven.” The delivery of such an address during such a terriffie storm was very solemn, and when “ The Litany of the Four Last Things ” was sung, whilst the church was lit up with the lurid glare of the lightning, the intensely weird effect will not be soon forgotten.
