The wool sales opened on the 22nd instant, at an average advance of 5 per cent, on last sales’ closing rates. The local agent of the New Zealand Loan •and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received following tele gram from London, under date 29th -uIL —Wool sales progress firmly ; home buyers purchasing freely, but ■continental demand is limited ; scoured combing, washed, and new clip greasy have advanced one penny per lb.; long staple merino, and crossbred have advanced half-penny to •one penny per lb., since close of last sales.
