Captain Porter at Mohaka.
Mohaka Dec. 2.
Captain Porter addressed the electors at Mohaka last night; the attendance was good. He went over similar grounds as at Erasertown, and was applauded to the conclusion. A number of bona fide questions were put, with the object of ascertaining the views of the candidate on various matters, and all were answered in a highly satisfactory manner. It is generally considered his address has raised Captain Porter fifty per cent in the estimation of the Mohaka electors ; and the majority say that of all the candidates he, alone, seems to hold decided views on the general questions of the day.
Mr Locke speaks to-night, and leaves by the Roaina to-morrow for Gisborne.
