Mr. Gannon at Frasertown.

(BY TELEGRAPH.) Wairoa, Nov. 30. Mr M. J. Gannon addressed the Electors last night at Frasertown, and met with a very favorable recepeion. After the meeting, J many leadiug settlers in the vicinity called on Mr Gannon, and gave him every assurance of their support. His views on the land question were cordially endorsed by all present. He exposed the doings of the New Zealand Native Land Company. Mr Locke is losing ground every day. His best friends, those who hold him in high admiration as a private gentleman, all acknowledge his unfitness to represent, the district. Another objection is that he is under Ormond’s thumb, being subordinate to him in Hawke’s Bay for over 16 years. Ormond is very unpopular here, owing to his past neglect of Wairoa. Many here doubt Mr Locke’s sincerity, when he states he would not support Ormond against Government. This opinion is strengthened by the fact that Ormond’s friends in Napier are working the hardest here for Mr Locke’s return. Captain Porter admitted publicly that he [Porter] is a shareholder in the Land Company. There is a remarkably strong feeling here against Mr Rees and the Land Company. Mr Gannon’s denunciation of the Land Company, is gaining him more and more supporters every day. He will get a large amount of support in Wairoa, Mohaha aud Mahia districts. He addresses the electors at Clyde to-night.
