We regret to hear by telegram of the death of Mr. Frank Davis, co-partiier with Mr. J. T. Large, in the Wairoa Guardian. Mr. Davis was for a time on the staff of this journal, which he left on account, of ill-health, and, after recruiting his strength,/established himself in business.at Wairoa, by, purchase of the Free Press, which name was subsequently altered to the Guardian. Mr. Davis had been suffering for some time past, and gradually sank to rest, on Wednesday much regretted by a large circle of friends, on account of his quiet, retii ing disposition.
