RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT, GISBORNE.
Thursday, September 29th, 1881. [Before M. Price, Esq., R.M.] Michael Mullooly was charged on the information of Raniera Turoa with stealing on the Bth inst. two cheques, one for the sum of £57, and one for £5, the property of the informant. Mt. Rees appeared for the prosecutton and Mr. McDougall with Mr. Finn for the defendant. Constable Farmer conducted the case for the police. A number of witnesses were examined, including complainant himself, and the case was adjourned to Friday, the 7th October. Friday, Sept. 30. We&trup v. Buller: This was an adjourned case, in which plaintiff sued defendant for certain moneys received by him as agent for one Hamon. After hearing the evidence, Judgment was given for plaintiff, £lB 7s. 6d., and costs £2 9s.
