O: COOK COUNTY COUNCIL. ACCOMMODATION HOUSE, GISBORNE WAIROA ROAD. •VrTRITTEN APPLICATIONS will be received at the Office of the Council Gisborne, until Noon on THURSDAY the 20th October next, from persons willing to establish an Accommodatiou House on the Waihau Block, Gisborne-Wairoa Road. The area of land is 200 Acres to be held for 21 years, Without Rent. Applicants to state the extent of House, Paddock, and other necessary Accommodation they will provide, and also fulfil the requirements of the Licensing Act, relative to Bush Inns.

Applicants to submit for the approval of the Council, the names of two persons who, will guarantee that the required accommodation is afforded within Six Months from the date of the acceptance of the tenders. TVT OTICE is hereby given, that at a Special Meeting of this Council, held on FRIDAY the 9th inst ; it was resolved— That Part 3 of By-Law 4 be rescinded, and the following words substituted : — Private Slaughte r Houses. It shall be lawful for the Council of the County to License, upon the payment of TEN POUNDS, such Slaughter Houses, as they from time to time, think proper, for Slaughtering Cattle within the County, and every such license shall expire on the 31st December, in the year in which it is granted. A meeting of the Council will be held on FRIDAY the 7th October next, for the purpose of confirming the same. JOHN WARREN, County Clerk. Gisborne, 14th Sept. 1881. 456 COOK COUNTY COUNCIL. BY-LAW TO REGULATE WIDTH OF TIRE USED ON DRAY WHEELS. "IVTOTICE is hereby given that at a Special ~ Meeting of this Council, held on the 9th inst., the following By-Law was confirmed, and will come into force on MONDAY, the 3rd October prox. By-law 7. That Drays using a tire, under inches wide shall not be allowed to carry more than 25 cwt. Drays using a tire of 2| inches and not exceeding 4 inches, shall not carry more than 30 cwt. Drays using a tire exceeding 4 inches, and not exceeding 5 inches, shall not carry more than 35 cwt. Drays using a tire exceeding 5 inches, and not exceeding 6 inches, shall not carry more than 40 cwt. Drays using a tire exceeding 6 inches, shall not carry more than 45 cwt. This scale of widths and weights to apply to 2-wheeled vehicles ; 4-wheeled vehicles may carry double the above weights. Any Person committing a breach of this By-law, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding Five Pounds. That this By-law, shall apply only to such roads, and at such times as the Council may from time to time direct. JOHN WARREN, County Clerk. Gisborne, 14th Sept., 1881. 457
