Messrs. Bourke and Smith will sell at Waerenga-a-hika on Monday next a lot of mixed cattle. Messrs. Pitt & Bennett will sell to-day an express wagon, carts, horses, (harness &c., and on Wednesday next at Makaraka cattle and milking cows. An advertisement appears in our columns announcing that the Bishop of the Diocese will preach in Holy Trinity Church to-morrow, but whether morning or evening, or both, we cannot say. We draw attention to the corrected advertisement of the Cook County Council regulating the width of tires to be used on certain roads in the County, an error having inadvertently crept into the advertisement in our issue of Wednesday last. ® draw attention to Messrs. Bourke and Smith’s advertisement in another column, in which it is announced that they have postponed their usual sale at Waerenga-a-hika from the 19th to the 26th inst., in consequence of a large mob of cattle, intended for sale, not being able to arrive in time. .The monthly meeting of the Hospital Committee took place on Wednesday evening last; the principal business of which was receiving reports and considering the advisability of holding , a Hospital fete champetre on St. Andrew s Day. The site suggested was across the river on the Whataupoko block, the presence of the bridge (if it be accessible for traffic by that time) making the idea a remarkably good one. If sufficient support and co-operation are given by the public, it is proposed to make it quite a general holiday, and to provide such varied sources of amusement as to ensure success. Fuller particulars will appear anon, when the Committee—Messrs. Johnston, Chrisp, McKay, Brown, and Pollen —have obtained sufficient data.
