OFFICES : 4, Nasmith’s Buildings, Gladstone Road. ©J ( THE promoters of this undertaking are fully impressed w hh the jdea that the time has arrived for the profitable establishment of a company to provide the Borough with Gas. They are fortified in their opinion by. that ofMr. E. B.’ P1$&0N8, of: the Auckland Gas Co., Mr. J. R. Geokge, of the Wellington Gas Co;, and- of other ’practical men. Some valuable statistics' have also been obtained by personal canvass, which conclusively show that the proposed company’s business will commence wita a deqpand'to the extent of at least 10,000 cubic feet' per diem ; which will be a dividend-paying quantity. The Directors have several sites under' their consideration, the conditions of which are—suitable water frontages for shipping,* with position for ready access to consumers. It is proposed to erect works suitable for manufacture of Gas from Coal, and to have also the small additional plant necessary for utilising the Gas developed in the manufacture of Anti-friction Grease and Paraffin from the mineral lately discovered in the South Pacific Petroleum Company’s ground, the late experiments having proved its suitability as a Gas-making material. The development of tlris industry fifom the latter material may therefore .fiecofae? one of great importance to the district, and should satisfactory arrangements be made with the Directors of the South Pacific Petroleum Company, the Gas necessarily evolved from the manipulation of the Paraffin ibinjral can be saved to the benefit of the • ebbsumters and laboring population. , . : r . , , Forms of Application qm he obtained from the Secretary, 4 Nasmith’s ‘Buildings, Gladstone Road, Gisborne, to whom applications for Shares are required to be sept..
