Horticultural & Floricultural Society.
The annual meeting of members of the above Society, took place in the Good Templars Hall, on Thursday evening: last. Dr. Pollen was voted to the chair. The Secretary and Treasurer’s reports were read and adopted. The funds in hand are £l6 Os Bd. The Officers elected for the ensuing year are ._Captain Porter, President; Mr. Geo. Stevenson, Vice-President; Mr. B. Sherriff, Secretary ; Mr. W. Good, Treasurer. Committee :—Messrs. Pollen, Bentley, Bull, File, I. C. Taylor, Tutehen, Adams, G. Hill, P. Barrie of Ormond, and E. Cameron, of Matawhero. The Spring Show will take place in Nov. Mr. Good announced as a special prize a Cup for the best collection of vegetables. Mr. I. C. Taylor offered a special prize, value £1 Is, for the best tray of fruit. The Committee were requested to at once commence canvassing the town for subscriptions. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Secretary for the able and energetic manner he has carried out his duties. —[?Communicated].
