A very offensive paragrapli not long ago appeared in the N. Z. Times, insinuating that the ambition of a lady spurred Air. Ormond on to take his hostile attitude towards the Ministry. The Post thus rebuked the ill-bred scribbler :—“ We feel bound to condemn strongly the offensive and unmanlv introduction by our journalistic supporter of the Government of a lady’s name in association with the action taken by Air. Ormond. These gross offences against social decencies cannot be too strongly discountenanced, and we hope that public propriety will not again be speedily offended.” The Times subsequently stated that the paragraph was introduced through “ inadvertency,” and apologised for its insertion. If truth were known, we believe that Ministers were responsible for the paragraph, and, more than that, we think we could name the particular Alinieter who wrote it.
