PORT OF POVERTY BAY. Arrivals —August. 6th. —Rosina, s.s., Captain Scott, from the Coast, with 5 tons cargo. Passengers:—Mrs. McGuire and 3 children, Judges Heale and O'Brien, Messrs. Lawry, Robertson, Walker, and Bu’lock. 7th. —Te Anau, s.s., Captain Carey, from Napier and Southern Ports, with 20 tons of cargo. Passengers : —Miss O’Meara, Miss Turp, Mrs. Finneran, Major Tisdale, Messrs. W. Clarke, Finn, G. W. Stea ward, Veale, And T. R. Davies. 7th.— Minnie Hare, schooner, Captain Skinner, from Auckland via East Coast, with general cargo.
Departures—August.
7th.—Te Anau, Capt. Ca-iey, for Auckland, with 20 head of cattle. Passengers : — Mr. and Mrs. Monkton and child, Miss Matthews, Messrs. Vandy, Scott, and Burnand. 6th.—Kiwi, s.s., Captain Campbell, for Napier and Wellington, with 5 tons cargo. Passengers : —Mrs. McGuire and 3 children, Hessrs. Richardson, Rymer, Lascelles, and Football team (15). Expected Arrivals. Oreti, s.s., from Auckland. Jessie, ketch, from Napier. Schooner (name unknown), from south, with flour. The P.M.S.S. City of New York left San Francisco on Sunday, 31st ultimo. She may be expected in Auckland on Monday, 22nd instant, her time-table date. The Sydney Morning Herald of July 27th says : “ The Emerald will remain one month in this port, then proceed to New Zealand, where Sir Arthur Gordon, High Commisioner of the Western Pacific, will be embarked, and make a trip to Fiji, and other places.” The Homeward Australian and New Zealand mails, via San Fiancisco, which left Auckland on the 21st of June, were delivered in London on the Ist inst., and those via Suez and Brindisi, which left Melbourne on June 21st, were delivered on the 3rd August.
