District Court.

The sittings of the District Court were brought to a close on Thursday last, when the hearing of the arbitration cases, Rees v. Gannon and Ganno v. Rees, were disposed (fif, His Honor Judge Kenny, said that as the evidence on both sides was very voluminous, he should take the papers to Napier, and forward the award in due course. He would remark that the of the. eases had been carried on with a temperrttewess of language, and in a spirit of fair play, on both sides, which had considerably decreased his own labors, and made them easy and pleasant. His Honor also complimented Mr, Greenwood, who bad undertaken a duty he was riot bound to perform, and, in considering the question of costs, it would be but an act of justice to make that gentleman a small remuneration. Both Mr. Brassey and Mr. Rees willingly consented to this, and the Court rose shortly before 5 o’clock. Judge Kenny and Mrs. Kenny were passengers to Napier in the steamer Rotorua last night.
