Some months ago in Gisborne, after the agent for a Dunedin brewer asserted in the public press the superiority of his ale he was ! challenged by the local Brewer for a wager of ten pounds, to produce an ale equal to that manufactured in Poverty Bay. There was no response to the challenge, vjiich was advertised for over a week, and the word “ CHALLENGE ” is now fairly claimed, and will be found henceforth emblazoned on CRAWFORD’S SPARKLING ALE. :0: 1 8 Crawford was awarded Sydney Exhibition First Prise Medal for Stout.
