TELEGRAMS.

(from our own correspondents). Cambridge, June 10. A great fire occurred at McLean’s Fen Court, yesterday. A large, two-storey building consisting of stables, hayloft, and about £lOO worth of grass seeds. Some valuable horses were, with difficulty, got out. The property is insured in the New Zealand Insurance Company. Wellington, June 10. I believe a movement will be made by the Grey party to oust the present Government, but should Ormond lead the attack, Grey with his 25 followers will join him. The general feeling at present is that the Ministry will hold office till the close of the Session, and that the office of Minister of Public Works will not be filled till the Session is well advanced. The Post says there is no sign of a compact and organised Opposition, the utterances of Grey and Macandrew having tended to disintegrate what remained of their party. The most probable outcome seems to be that the Opposition w’ill agree to act together generally against Ministers, leaving the question of leadership to be decided when occasion arises. If, however, they find that they can positively count on the votes of the new Members for Nelson and Grey Valley, it is not unlikely that they may assume a more united and aggressive front.
