RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT, GISBORNE.
Friday, May 27th, 1881. [Before M. Price, Esq., R.M.] WADE v. De costa. Claim £1 4s 6d for work and labor mending tanks. The defendant said she would accept plaintiff’s statement that the work was satisfactory, and consented to pay. Judgment accordingly. x SIGLEY V. HARRIS & FERGUSON. Claim £5 13s Bd, for work done. There was no appearance of the defendants and judgment passed for plaintiff, as against Mr Ferguson, the member of the firm, who was the recipient of the summons. WARD V. E. O’MEARA. Claim £B2 2s, on a dishonored P.N., an interest. ' • No appearance of defendant. Brassey for the plaintiff. Judgment with costs, for plaintiff. WALKER V. SKILLICOBN. Adjourned for a week with costs, on the application of Mr. Brassey, who appeared for the plaintiff. WEBB V. J. DICK. Claim £5 15s, for printing, advertising and subscription. Judgment for plaintiff with costs of court. A. HATTON V. T. GILMOUR. Claim £5 3s 9d, for meat supplied. Mr. Brassey appeared for the defendant. From the evidence it appeared the defendant and one Laughran, had a contract together, but that the latter had refused to be responsible. Judgment for plaintiff with costs of Court. Execution to be stayed to enable Gilmour to summon Laushran.
