Some months ago in Gisborne, after the agent for a Dunedin brewer asserted in the public press the superiority of his ale he was challenged by the local Brewer for a wager of ten pounds, to produce an ale equal to that manufactured in Poverty Bay. There was no response to the challenge, which was advertised for over a week, and the word “ CHALLENGE ”.is now fairly claimed, and will be found henceforth emblazoned on CRAWFORD’S SPARKLING XXX ALE. ;0; I’Crawford was awarded Sydney Exhibition First Prise Medal for Stout.
