London, May 10. John Bradlaugh has again appeared at the table of the House, and repeated his demand that the oath of allegiance shouid be administered. He was ordered by the Speaker to withdraw, and npon declining to do so, was forcibly ejected from the Chamber by the Sergt. at Arms, and forbidding his presence within the precincts of the House until he engaged not to disturb its proceedings. The Wool sales opened on the 10th at an average decline of 5 per cent on|last sales closing rates. The sales comprised about 337,000 bales have been sent to manufacturing districts direct. The opening catalogue contained 5100 bales ; competition by both Home and foreign buyers is active. May 11. Sales to-day, 9,300 bales were offered ; prices were fairly maintained, and there was good competition for the various lots offered. Sydney, May 13. A serious fire occurred on the premises occupied by J. G. Curron, wholesale grocer, George Street, resulting in the partial destruction of the building ; the stock was also much damaged. The insurances on building and stock amount to £12,000, including £4OO in N.Z. office, and will fully cover loss. Another large fire occurred in the Haymarket, causing the total destruction of a store occupied by Hains and Co., general produce merchants. The stock and buildings were insured for £2OOO in the National Insurance Company of New Zealand.
