Yesterday was the day appointed for the hearing; of the Injunction applied for by Mr. AV. L. Rees, to restrain Mr Barker from selling the Whataupoko lands, pending the civil action brought by and against the said parties to absolutely restrain the latter from selling at all. The case was fully argued before the Chief .Justice in Wellington, yesterday, which resulted, after a hard figlrt on both sides, in the Injunction being granted. .As the suit will not come off in the Supreme Court for some time, it is understood that Mr Barker will be allowed to replace bis sheep on the land, in the interval. It is earnestly to be hoped that these land troubles will soon come to an end.
