Southern Gross Petroleum Company.

Most satisfactory meetings of Directors in the above Company have been held lately, at the head offices, Gisborne. One of the most assuring items we have to announce is the signing of a contract for boring to the depth of 1000 feet at the Botokautuku block, by Messrs. Hugh Campbell and Parsons, and upon such conditions with respect to pay and bonus as cannot fail to be satisfactory to both parties, and will be a guarantee that oil will be obtained if it is there. It is not proposed to make any calls at present, and it is estimated that, possibly, a shilling per share will be the full extent to which shareholders will be asked to contribute.
