Prince and Princess ofjWales started to-day on a visit to St. Petersburg. . , In the House of Commons the announced that information has reached the Government that the Boers have accepted con ditions of peace submitted them by Sir Evelyn Wood. The Boers will recognise the sovereignty of the Queen in the Transvaal, but will enjoy complete antonomy. Gladstone further informed the House that a commission enquiry would arrange Native frontier questions; and also consider whether Transvaal should lose territory to East Ward ; the Boers would disperse their forces forthwith, but the British garrisons would remain in their present positions until complete settlement had been effected, and in the meantime troops would be stationery. The Commission of Enquiry into the affairs of Transvaal will be composed of Sir Hercules Robinson, Sir Evelyn Wood and Sir John Dertilliers, Chief Justice at the Cape. The Commission will proceed without delay to Heildeberg, in Transvaal, and hold their Commission. At the Wool sales to-day 8,700 bales were offered, and the tone of auction was firm. Paris, March 24. They report the Colony at New Ireland is virtually abandoned. The immigrants of the India refuse to land at Noumea, fearing fresh deception, and demand conveyance to Barcelonia. They are entirely dependent for the common necessaries of life on the benevolence of the Caledonian authorities.
