GREAT EXHIBITION AT NEW YORK.

A site has been secured in the wood in the immediate vicinity of the city, but the public have not responded to the scheme of raising the necessary funds by the issue of debentures. General Grant, late President, in an address delivered by him on the subject, has expressed great regret at the attitude displayed, and appealed to the people of the United States to do their utmost to successfully carry out the project.
