A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I wish to correct an error that has seemingly crept into your report of the performance at the Roseland Theatre on Friday evening last, in which you mention that the scenery, &c., painted by Mr. Thornton was very much admired. Now as Mr. Thornton had no hand in the preparing or decorating of the Hall, it is hardly fair to those who completed the work to give him the credit. It is true that Mr. Thornton is engaged to paint one scene, but he has not yet done so. I would therefore request to point out to you that it is entirely the work of Messrs. Huddleston and Nash. Appologising for trespassing on your valuable space, I beg to remain, &c., S. C. Caulton. [We plead guilty to a certain amount of faultiness in regard to the above. Newspapers, as a rule, are supposed to be O.K. in their reports ; and, although the above exception may prove the rule, we are sorry to have ascribed the merit we acknowledged, to other than the rightful parties.]—Ed.
