CABLEGRAMS.
London, January 23. In the House of Commons this afternoon Mr. Gladstone gave notice that he would propose “ That a majority of three-fourths of the House on a motion of ‘ urgency ’ should suffice to give the Speaker supreme control over the Cabinet and give him immediate power to suppress disorder.” Gladstone’s proposal is made in view of the disgraceful scenes which occurred last night in the House on the Irish Coercian Bill.
