(from our own correspondents.) Auckland, Jany. 14. Mr. G. M. Reed and party of settlers who arrived by thfe Lady Jocelyn, and the Sydney steamer, left by the Rotomahana for Gisborne yesterday. About a dozen accompany Mr. Reed, their families remaining at Auckland in the meantime. It is understood that others, who come by way of the South, will arrive at Gisborne on Sunday morning. Buckland reports at the Haymarket sales as follow :—Bonedust £7 per ton, wholesale; Hay 2s. 6d. to 3s. 6d. per cwt., and ordinary horse stock at late values. The sale of racing stock occasioned a large attendance ; those of Mr. Farmer’s brought respectively, Paramena 161 guineas, Rewi 120 guineas, and Florence 37 guineas. Hides and Skins in moderate supply only. Hides brought from 3|d. to 3|d. per lb.; Tallow 19s. per cwt.; Pelts Bd. to Is. Id.; Sheepskins Is.4d. toss. lOd. each; Washed Wool Is. id.; Greasy Wool 7d. to B|d. per lb. At Remuera, dairy cattle were in short supply, and at previous values ; store cattle dull of sale ; fat cattle in full numbers, 145 head sold at last week’s prices from 23s to 25s the lOOlbs. Heavy cattle and second quality from 225. Sheep were penned in full numbers, and fell in price slightly ; ewes were at 2d, wethers 2|d per lb. ; lambs plentiful, and at last week’s values; averages for cattle were 10 steers at £l6 10s 6d ; 7 ditto, at £7 16s 9d : 8 ditto, at £7 10s 6d ; 20 ditto, at £8 6s ; 33 head from yard, £6 15s each.
