The Clydesdale Draught Stallion Young 1 Lord Glasgow. Will stand this season at Toanga. HE is a low-se’j, powerful Draught Stallion; stands about 16£ hands high, and is perfectly staunch in harness. Young Lord Glasgow took the first prize at the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural Show held at Hastings in 1874, and Ist prize in Poverty Bay in 1878. Terms —£3 3s each mare. Paddocking free for one month ; after that 2s fid per week will be charged. All fees and charges must be paid before the removal of mares. EWEN CAMERON. To stand this season, the thoroughbred steeplechase horse Brigham Young. BRIGHAM YOUNG, is a very powerful rich brown horse, rising 7 years ; bred by Mr. Quinlivan, of Wanganui. He is got by Tradueer out of Missie by Nutworth, imported grand dam, by Riddlesworth, the winner of the Two Thousand Guineas. He also ran second for the Derby in England. Riddlesworth is the sire of Dainty Ariel, Doch-a-durris, Malagar, and old Volanter, one of the best cross country horses in the Colony. When a 4-year-old, Brigham Young ran his maiden race in Wanganui, where lie met ten of the best cross country horses in New Zealand, for the Wanganui Hurdle Race. Among the horses engaged in this race w r as Wairarapa. He afterwards won the Napier and Wanganui Hurdle Races. Victor was the winner of the Steeple-chase in Wanganui, and the Wellington Hurdle Race. Madora is a great winner from the south, having won a great many cross country races. There were eight others started. This was a very fast race from the start, Pat M‘Coy winning it on Gazelle, Brigham Young second. Two months after Brigham Young ran for the Grand Steeplechase in Wanganui • 14 horses started. A very exciting race ensued, several of the horses being killed. Here Brigham Young showed himself again to be a true son of Tradueer, being a raw colt, 4 years old, and winning the Wanganui Grand Steeplechase against 13 of the best horses in the island. He will stand this season at the Arai Bridge. Terms :—£3 10s each mare. One month’s grass free ; after notice of stinting, Is 6d per week will be charged for grass and attendance. Two or more mares the property of the same owner, as per agreement. All fees must be paid on the removal of mares. 614 JAS. FEBRIS. The well-known Draught Entire Windsor Castle Will be led to his Mares this Season. WINDSOR CASTLE was bred at Windsor, New South Wales, got by the imported English Horse Matchless, out of an imported Clydesdale Mare. Terms.: £2 10s single Mares, or £3 with a guarantee ; £2 each for two or more Mares, the property of the same person. All arrangements for the guarantee of Mares must be in writing and settled before the removal of Mares or they will not be recognised. LAURENCE DUNNE, Matawhero.lo6 To Stand this Season, At Mr. W. King’s farm, MAKAURI, the Magnificent Entire Terenga. TERENGA is a beautiful dark chestnut, and stands 15 hands 3 inches. He is sound as a bell, thoroughly good-tempered, and has proved himself a certain foal-getter. He is by Ravensworth (sire of Guy Fawkes and Papapa), out of Phoebe, one of the grandest mares New Zealand ever produced. Terenga’s dam traces back to the celebrated Sir Hercules, and he himself shews a quality not to be surpassed. The full pedigree will shortly be published. Terms : —Single mares, £4 4s ; Owners of two or more mares to be served can make arrangements. Good paddocking free for one month, after which time 3s per week will be charged. .
