PORT OF POVERTY BAY. ARRIVALS.—January. s—Albion5 —Albion s.s., Capt. Garrard, from Auckland, with one passenger, Mr. Bourke, and 10 tons general cargo. DEPARTURES.—January. s—Albion5 —Albion s.s., Captain Garrard, for Melbourne, via Napier, and Southern ports, with the following passengers : —Messrs Harvey, Finlay, Williamson, Liddle, Rev. Father Vaggoili, and three in the steerage.—Cargo : 4 tons general merchandise and 30 bales of wool. s.—Orpheus, schooner, Captain Dunn, for Whangarei. The brigantine Lizzie Guy cleared yesterday for Havelock in ballast. The s.s. Arawata has been detained in Auckland, and will not arrive here until early this afternoon. Messrs W. Ashby & Co., writing from London under date of November 4th, say —Since our last the A. de Freitas sailed with a general cargo for Auckland on October 20th, and on the 28th ult. the Margaret Galbraith (Shaw, Saville & Co) left for the same port with several passengers. The next vessels for Auckland will be the Sydenham (N.Z.S. Co.) with the Rev. Mr. Berry and party, and the Oxford with the balance of Mr. Stewart’s party. Both will leave about the 26th. The Sydenham has all her cabin accomodation engaged, and the Oxford is fast filling up. By both vessels a number of old colonists are returning. The s.s., Northumberland left Plymouth for Wellington on 25th Oct., quite full of cargo and passengers. There were over 400 souls on board, equal to 2421 adults. The Orient Coy. have raised their fares to Australia; the first saloon is now 55 to 70 guineas ; second saloon 40 guineas ; steerage, 15 guineas.
