The Melbourne Cup.

The following are the acceptance for the Melbourne Cup of 1879, which we extract from .the Argus of the 12th.:—■ sweepstake of 20 sovs. each, 10 ft., or 5 if declared, with SOO added. The winner of any handicap race of the value of 200 sovs. after the declaratioh of the weights to carry'slb. extra; of two or more such races, 81b. extra; of any such' race of the value of 100 sovb., 31b. extra ; of .two or more such races, 51b,- extra. The second horso to receive 200 soys,, aud the third 100 sovs. but of the stake, Two miles. The remainder of the sweepstake (10 sovs.) td be made'good the day general entry; -
