TEMPERANCE HALL, ORMOND.

The entertainment, as announced, eame off on Boxing night, under the auspices of the members of the Good Templar Lodge. Press of local matter, earlier to hand, prevent us from doing more than to touch upon the salient points of it. The concert was successful to a fault, but the attendance was not large, which is, doubtless, due to the fact of many persons being too tired with the day’s racing to go through any additional fatigue. Mr Rateliffe created a furore of fun by the rendering of some of his character songs, all of which were applauded to the echo. Messrs Shirley and Clements also sang with their accustomed felicity. The Farce, “ A Day after the Fair,” was capitally mounted. Messrs Paviour, Brunt, and Lawson, sustained their parts very creditably, while Mr and Mrs Clements, iu their multiform characters, were “immense,” the lady’s acting particulary, demands something more than an empty compliment. The stage is a little picture,' and does infinite credit to Mr Jeffries whose artistic brush provided a capital drop scene and wings, also to Mr Clements, who presided over the whole management with such signal success ; indeed, we learn that it is to him that the Ormond settlers are indebted for an entertainment which is well worth repeating.
