(from oub own correspondent.) NAPIER. December 14. The Suez mail has arrived at the Bluff. Sir Garnet Wolsley leaves the War office to enter the Indian Council. General Airey has been raised to the peerage. The sentence of five years’ penal servitude passed on Count Arnim has produced a great shock throughout England. A formidable conspiracy in Spain has been discovered ; 126 persons, including 18 Generals, have been arrested. Sir. Stafford Northcote meets Parliament as First Lord of the Treasury, aud Hunt as Chancellor. The Supreme Court commenced its sittings to-day; no eases of interest have been yet disposed of. The County Council elections are causing great excitement in the country districts. Nearly every Riding is contested all throughout the colony, populous places are going in for boroughs, so as to escape the Revenue being taken by the large n.- •'tders.
