Messes Ferris and Pitt’s sale of. stock at the She! bourne yards on Saturday last wis not well attended by buyers, except for Mr Poynter’s rams which realized prices varying from £8 10s to £l5. Auckland, December 8. Mr Buckland reports sales of wool in grease at 7d to !o|d ; washed, 11 to 15d ; fat eattle, 27s to 30s per lOOlbs; sheep, 2j to 2 J per lb; best lambs, 13s to 17s each. Sydney, December 6. A private telegram from Lon lon, dated Saturday, states that the wool sales concluded to-day. The market was firm at the very highest quotations. Over two hundred and five thousand bales were ca'alogued, including 41,000 second hand, 80,000 were taken for export. The temporary depression was caused by inferior lots. The Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following cablegram from Loudon, dated December 4, —Wool sales closed at an average improveme it of 2d to 3d ; the principal advance mis been in superior, greasy, medium an 1 inferior washed and scoured. The Balos comprise about. 206,000, bales; 811,000 bales have been takeu for export. A good many second-hand parcels were offered during the past sales. Trade in the manufacturing districts is improved. For tallow there is a. fair trade demand— Mutton. 44s ; beef, 425. The wheat market is firm. Adelaide is worth 54s per 4161bs ; New Zealand, 52s per 4961 b.
