A Mercantile Agency’s cablegram from London confirms the fall of a jd to a Id in the price of wool. The Steam Packet Company’s report stated that the New Zealand business shows a satisfactory account, excepting on the West Coast. The Fiji business had collapsed, with a heavy loss to the company. In consequence of the great reduction in the value of sleamers, and the probability of a considerable loss on the Llewellyn, the directors had written off £SDOO from the value of the steamers. The balance showed a lesson the working expenses, as per schedule, of £lO5 Is 4d. The report was adopted.
