The well-known Clydesdale Horse Auckland VXTILL run with his mares at Mr Breingans ’ ’ paddocks at Waorenga-a-hika during the current season. Auckland is by Major, out of a Lincoln mare. He won the first prize in 1869 as a yearling, beating two-year-old horses. In 1871, as a three-year-old, he also carried off the first prize against aged horses. In 1872 he curried ofi the second prize, being beaten only by President, one of the three newlyimported horses- In 1875 he took the silver cup for the best draught entire at the Poverty Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society's show.
