Mr W. S. Greene’s sale was well attended on Friday, considering the unfavorable state of the weather which had a depressing effect on bidders. The following are some of the quotations: — Springing heifers and dry cows, £5 15s to £7 15s ; dairy cows, with calves at foot, £5 to £7 ; steers, 11 months to 2 years old, £5 2s 6d to £7 17s 6d ; calves, 42s 6d to 555.
At Messrs Ferris & Pitt’s cattle sale at Makaraka on Saturday last, the lots submitted realised fair prices, and the attendance was above the average. -Two-year-old Steers, £4 12s 6d; Yearlings from £2 5s ; Springing Heifers, from £5 ; Spayed Cows, from £5 5s ; Milking Cows, from £6 2s 6d; horses dull of sale, slight demand for draught and good upstanding light harness.
