RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Gisbobne, Tuesday, November 7, 1876. (Before W. K. Nesbitt, Esq., R.M.) R. dooPER v. F. Hales and Another.— Claim, £7 10s 6d, damages sustained through the illegal taking and detention of 100 posts, the property of the plaintiff. Judgment for plaintiff, £7 10s 6d and £5 12s costs. Te Koora, convicted of stealing ahorse, was sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment in Gisborne gaol with hard labor. E. K. Brown v. Te Puia. —Claim, £6 4s 6d. Amount of promissory note dishonoured. Judgment for plaintiff with £1 3s 6d costs. Graham & Co. v. Du Vernet. —Claim, £1 5s 6d, value 1 case ginger wine short delivered, as a carrier. Judgment for Plaintiff £1 5s 6d, aud costs £2.
