ORMOND.

(from a correspondent.) October 17. As Gisborne is pushing ahead, I must e’en mention our rising township of Ormond. The Good Templars are on the increase, and the result is perfectly satisfactory, as our enterprising contemporary, Mr J. Villers, is brewing his own ginger beer, lemonade, soda water, and syrups of all descriptions, in addition to the great expense he has incurred for machinery of several kinds. A blacksmith’s forge has sprung up most miraculously, and the knowing part of the community have decided that their horses are turned out in the most work-man-like manner, not mentioning the extremely reasonable charges made for all kinds of work ; and the smith, having had a long experience in the shoeing department, will best recommend himself with his work ; one visit will ensure more, so what with the new store, blacksmith’s shop, and wholesome sodawater and lemonade, I've no doubt that Mr J. Villers will gain the prestige he deserves, his motto evidently being “jiothing venture, nothing have.”
