POR'C OF POVERTY BAY. A II II I V A L S . SEPTEMBEK. 30—Raugatira. s.s., Captain 4fvans, from Napier and Wellington, with the following passengers — Mrs Hardy, Miss Pimia Aata, Messrs Lubbock, M’Mahon, Mathieson, Roach, Bethill, and Kinross. DEPARTURES. OCTOBEB. I—Rnngatira,1—Rnngatira, s.s.. Captain Evans, for Napier and Wellington, wi'h the following passengers — Messrs Wilson, Mathieson, and Roskruge. The Pretty Jane was expected to leave Auckland for this port last evening. The Jane Douglas is advertised to leave for Napier on or about Thursday (to-morrow). The Nelson Mail is glad to learn that it is the intention of Messrs. N, Edwards and Co. to enter upon a new trade with the smart little steamers that sail under the flag of the Anchor Lino. They will start boats at stated periods from Nelson to Dunedin via Wellington and Lyttelton returning to Nelson by the same route, and then proceeding to the West Coast, thus forming a complete chain of eommnnicati'on between Dunedin and Hokitika via all the intermediate ports. The Charles Edward will be the first to take up the running, and will be despatched on her return from her first trip to the West Coast. We wish the enterprising owners of this fine little fleet of steamers every success in this their new undertaking.
