BOOKSELLER, STATIONER, & FANCY GOODS IMPORTER, &c., &c. 373 Lambton Quay, Wellington. OF HOLLOWAY’S PILLS AND OINTMENT. I most respect fully’ take leave to call the attention of the inhabitants of Australasia to the fact that Messrs HENRY, CURRAN, A Co., Wholesale Druggists of NEW YORK, have Agencies in various parts, and that their Travellers are going all over the country vending SPURIOUS IMITATIONS of my Pills and Ointment, which they make in Nbw York, and which bear in some instances t-h® l1 * trade mark thus — FjpWk —whilst on other labels Mthis trash it is omitted, the^S^ B *^^Jybettcr to deceive you, but the wjjl words “ New’ York ” are rc- tained. Much of this fictitious rtuff is sold in the Auction Rooms of Sydney and else where, and readily finds its way into the back settlements. These are vile frauds, as I do not allow my Medicines even to be sold in any part of (he United States ; they are only made by me at 533, Ox ford-street, London. The same people are circulating a report that my business is about to be formed into a Company, which is UTTERLY FALSE. 1 most earnestly appeal to that sense of British justice, which 1 feel sure I may venture upon asking from my kind countrymen and country-women in their distant homes, to assist me, as far as may lay in their pow’er, in denouncing this shameful American Fraud, by cautioning their friends lest they be duped into buying villainous colmpounds styled Holloway’s Pills and Ointment ” with any New York label thereon. Each Pot and Box of the Genuine Medicines bears the British Government Stamp, with the words “ Holloway’s Pills and Otntmrnt, LONDON,” engraved thereon. On the label is the address, 533, Oxford Street, London, where alone they are Manufactured. (Signed) THOMAS HOLLOWAY. London, Feb. 15, 1876. 515 Nervousness, Debility, Loss of Power, Spkumatorrikea, Indiscretions of Early Youth, Syphilitic Diseases. In all the above cases, arising from error and the yielding to the passions, no time should be lost to at once arrest the progress of disease. DR. L. L. SMITH TT AS devoted himself for twenty years in the colony to the practice of this branch of his profession, while previously in England, he was the pupil of and practiced with the celebrated Dr. R. T. Culverwell, the only medical practitioner who ever exclusively adopted this as the sole branch of his profession. Dr. L. L. Smith hereby informs the public that he is the only legally •qualified medical man in this speciality of his profession ; that others advertising are unqualified, and that, therefore, in pretending to be qualified, are obtaining money under false pretences. Dr. L. L. Smith also warns the public against the quackeries advertised. If the taker of these nostrums escape with his life, or his system be not thoroughly and imparably undermined by them, he may look upon himself as a most fortunate mortal. Dr. L. L. Smith has been applied to by so many broken - down young - old - men, utterly crushed in spirit, ruined in body, and filched in pocket, that he deems it a duty to publish this to the world. Those men and women who have been the victims of unprincipled charlatans frequently seek that recovery which is beyond Dr. Smith’s control. When will the public understand that it is to their ( interest to consult a duly qualified medical man, who has made this his whole study, rather than apply to a number of ignorant imposters, who merely harp and prey upon their p x'kets and health ! Dr. L. L. Smith has always slated that to warn the public of those quicksands is his chief reason for advertising. In all cases of nervous debility, lowness of spirit, loss of power, pimples on the forehead, lassitude, inaptitude for business, impotency, drainage from the system, and various effects of errors of youth and bloodpoisoning from diseases previously contracted. Dr. L. L. Smith invites sufferers to consult him, ns he has no hesitation in stating that no medical man, either here or in England, has had the opportunities of practice and extraordinary experience which ho has had. Therefore, those who really desire to be treated by one who is at the head of his profession in his branch of medical practice, should lose no time in seeking his advice. Nor should anyone marry without consulting him. The new Consulting Rooms are at IS2 COLLIN ST., EAST, MELBOURNE, Opposite the Melbourne Club, (late the residence of the Governor) Private - Entrance is in Stephen Street south, Consultation Fee, (by letter) £l. Medicines forwarded to all the colonics, fo packed as to avoid observation. Books published by the Doctor, can bo had on application to him. 785 CIRCULARS, Pamphlets, and Posters, printed nt the Standard Office, with Neatness and Despatch.
