SHELBOURNE HOTEL, Roseland, Makaraka. ;O: GEORGE SAUNDERS, (LATE PROPRIETOR OF THE WAERENGA-A-HIKA HOTEL) BEGS to inform his friends and the public generally that he has again embarked in the hotel-keeping business, having purchased the Freehold, Goodwill, Stock-in-trade, &.C., &c., of the above hostelry from the late proprietor, Mr L. Higgins. The advantages of this central and popular house of call are too well known to need recapitulation. Standing at the junction of the three main roads in Poverty Bay, within four miles of Gisborne, the commanding, yet picturesque appearance, of the Shelbourne Hotel cannot, fail to strike the most indifferent beholder. The Hotel comprises 12 cheerful, well-ventilated Bedrooms, with the necessary complement of spacious, yet comfortable, Dining, Commercial, and Sitting Rooms. For Families there are also cheerful, commodious, suites of apartments, the upper windows and the balcony affording an excellent view of the surrounding country. BJLTECS G. S. particularly calls the attention of Invalids and all who are sensible of the advantages of a clear fresh spring water bath, to the unequalled facilities he is enabled to offer in this respect. THE ARTESIAN MINERAL WATERS upon his premises bid fair to become as celebrated for their curative and invigorating qualities as the Springs at Taupo, with the additional advantage that the Shelbourne Mineral Bath is easily accessible by the most delicate of invalids. It will be found on examining the analysis of these waters, published in the local papers some time since, that they ■possess peculiarly invigorating and health-restoring qualities, specially adapted to all suffering from Rheumatism, Gout, Neuralgia, Cutaneous Eruptions, and all Pulmonary Disorders. The Bath Rooms have been fitted up with every necessary appliance, which, coupled with the attendance, civility, and moderate charges, cannot fail to place the Shelbourne Hotel at the head of the list of hotels in Poverty Bay. Parties from a distance may be met with buggy or horses on the arrival of a steamer by sending advice by telegram. The Wines and Spirits will all be carefully selected from the best houses in the trade. Public Dinners and Wedding Breakfasts contracted for.
