Sire Horses. To stand this season, nt Combermero, the thorough-bred stallion DAINTY ARIEL. IT would be well for sporting men and owners of brood mares to remember that this cross has proved most successful in the racing world in England. Eclipse, the founder of the strain, was never beaten, and in seventeen months won upwards of £25,000. He was afterwards used for the stud, and was the sire of the extraordinary number of three hundred and thirty four winners, who netted for their owners upwards of £169,000. Riddlesworth, the sire of Dainty Ariel, ran second in the Derby, and won tho 2000 Guineas in England. In Australia the Barb and Yattenden were both first-class champions on the course, and at the slud they have also been very successful, Yaltenden being the sire of 62 winners last year. In New Zealand the same strain of blood has been very good. These were Hurricane, Dainty Ariel, Doch-en-doris, Isleman, Yatterina, Volunteer, and Maori Weed. Dainty Ariel has proved himself a sure foal-getter in this district, the whole of the Mares put to him last season being in foul. Terms—£l 4s for single mares; two or more, as per agreement.
